Position Summary
RGSPP is seeking an inspirational and experienced Head of Science to lead curriculum excellence, assessment, enrichment, and staff development across the whole school. While the role focuses on Secondary provision, the postholder will also provide strategic leadership for Primary–Secondary transitions, ensuring a cohesive and ambitious Science programme from Early Years through Sixth Form.
Key Responsibilities
• Shape the strategic direction of Science, embedding high‑quality teaching and learning, rigorous assessment, and a culture of scientific curiosity and inquiry.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing team, championing collaboration, innovation, and consistency across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to advance scientific literacy, strengthen academic standards, and foster student confidence in practical science.
• Drive cross‑disciplinary STEM initiatives and support whole‑school accreditation, compliance, and data‑driven improvement.
• Contribute fully to the academic, pastoral, and co‑curricular life of the school, promoting the RGSPP values of Discovery, Opportunity, Virtue, and Excellence (DOVE) and our guiding motto:
“Ready to Grow, Committed to Learn, and Kind to All.”
