Position Summary

Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh (RGSPP) is seeking passionate and dedicated EYFS & Reception Teacher to deliver high-quality, play-based learning experiences for our youngest learners. The postholder will be responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can develop essential skills in communication, creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth.

As part of the EYFS team, the teacher will ensure that lessons and activities are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. They will work closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to ensure that each child receives an enriching, personalised education that meets their developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons based on the EYFS framework.

• Foster a love for learning through interactive, hands-on activities that encourage curiosity and creativity.

• Implement a child-centred, inquiry-based approach to learning that supports individual growth.

• Support early literacy and numeracy development through structured and play-based learning.

• Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring that every child receives the necessary support and challenge.


Curriculum Development & Assessment

• Develop and implement a comprehensive EYFS curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.

• Use observational assessment and other tools to track student progress and inform planning.

• Ensure that learning activities align with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and school values.

• Work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1.

Professional Development & Staff Support

• Engage in professional development and training to continually improve teaching practice.

• Work collaboratively with EYFS colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency in early years education.

• Contribute to curriculum planning and innovation within the EYFS team.

• Participate in school-wide professional development opportunities, including INSET days and staff training.


Pastoral & Student Well-being

• Create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports all aspects of early childhood development.

• Implement behaviour management strategies that align with the school’s positive discipline policies.

• Foster positive relationships with students, helping to develop their confidence, independence, and well-being.

• Work closely with parents to support children’s learning, offering regular feedback and engagement opportunities.


Co-Curricular & Whole School Contribution

• Participate in school-wide initiatives, events, and extracurricular activities that enrich the learning experience.

• Support EYFS assemblies, performances, and celebrations that showcase student learning and development.

• Encourage children to take part in creative, physical, and social activities beyond the classroom.


Operational & Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and lesson plans.

• Ensure that classroom resources are well-organised, age-appropriate, and aligned with curriculum goals.

• Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety protocols to ensure student welfare.

• Contribute to the development of school policies related to EYFS education.

Marketing & Admissions

• Assist with open days, parent information sessions, and school tours, showcasing the EYFS provision at RGSPP.

• Communicate with prospective families to highlight the benefits of an early years education at RGSPP.

• Contribute to school publications and online platforms to promote the EYFS curriculum and achievements.


All Teachers

• Teach (or are available for Private Study supervision or cover) a set timetable per week.

• Accept and take on responsibilities within their department as reasonably required such as assisting with the setting and marking of internal examinations, entrance examinations and scholarship examinations/assessments as required, including the recording of results.

• Develop and share resources and good practice with the rest of their department, contributing to departmental meetings and the development of the online departmental handbook.

• Set and mark work in accordance with school and department policies, giving constructive feedback from appropriate tasks, and maintain accurate records of pupils’ attainment and academic progress and writing assessments and reports on pupils as required.

• Attend meetings, such as staff meetings, INSET days, and Parents’ Briefings and communicate with parents both at planned school events and where otherwise appropriate.
