Teaching Assistant (Lead TA & Administrative Support to Heads of School)

Position Summary

We are seeking an adaptable and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role combines classroom support with the opportunity to work closely alongside the Heads of School, providing additional organisational and administrative assistance as needed. In addition, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for coordinating and supporting the wider team of Teaching Assistants, fostering effective teamwork and ensuring high standards across the school.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching Assistant Duties:

  • Support teachers in the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.

  • Work with individual pupils, small groups, or the whole class as required, including those with additional learning needs.

  • Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources and displays.

  • Contribute to the assessment and recording of pupil progress, supporting a positive learning environment.

  • Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.

Lead TA Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day work of the Teaching Assistant team, ensuring consistency and high standards of support throughout the school.

  • Provide guidance, support, and informal training to new and existing TAs.

  • Facilitate effective communication between the TAs, teaching staff, and Heads of School.

  • Support the allocation of TA resources according to the needs of each class or year group.

Additional Administrative Support:

  • Provide organisational assistance to the Heads of School, including support with events, meetings, and communications.

  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating appointments, visits, and internal meetings.

  • Prepare, organise, and maintain key documentation and resources as directed by the Heads of School.

  • Act as a first point of contact for routine enquiries and messages, ensuring effective and timely communication across the school.

  • Support the logistics of special projects, assemblies, and school-wide initiatives as needed.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate a team.

  • Strong communication skills in both Khmer and English (spoken and written preferred).

  • Professional, discreet, and trustworthy in handling confidential information.

  • Positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work.

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
