Position Summary
Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh (RGSPP) is seeking a passionate, organised, and visionary School Librarian to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in developing a world-class library at a new British international school.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing a vibrant, inclusive learning space that fosters a love of reading, supports academic inquiry, and contributes to the intellectual life of the school. Working with students across Early Years to Senior School, the Librarian will collaborate with teaching and leadership teams to deliver high-quality literacy initiatives, resource management, and research support.
Key Responsibilities
Library Support & Operations
Assist in the day-to-day running of the school library, including check-in/out of materials and reshelving
Maintain a tidy, well-organised and inviting library environment
Support the use of the library management system and digital tools
Assist in cataloguing, labelling, and organising library materials
Help ensure that stock lists are kept up-to-date and that resources are in good condition
Literacy Promotion & Student Support
Promote reading for pleasure through conversations with students, themed displays, and reading recommendations
Guide students in selecting appropriate reading material based on age, interest, and ability
Assist with the planning and delivery of library-based activities, including author visits, Book Week, and themed events
Support the development of reading programmes, such as Accelerated Reader or similar initiatives
Learning Support & Collaboration
Support the delivery of information literacy and research skills sessions under the direction of the School Librarian
Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure students are effectively supported in using library resources
Contribute to the planning and implementation of cross-curricular library initiatives
Administration & Organisation
Assist in preparing library communications and promotional materials
Support the administration of procurement processes for books and resources
Help organise events and competitions linked to the library and reading culture
Community Engagement & Co-curricular Involvement
Support parent and community engagement with the library
Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme through reading clubs or enrichment activities
Supervise students using the library before or after school, during breaks, or during ECAs as required
